Background
During my time as a Biology undergraduate, I became fascinated with the interactions between humans and nature. This has led me to focus my 4th Year MBiol masters project on ways to rapidly and sustainably bridge the political and economic shortfall in biodiversity conservation. In particular, I am interested in examining the effectiveness of long term offsets and biodiversity credit markets, identifying advantages and improvements needed in order for such nature markets to scale meaningfully and become an effective, globally implemented tool for nature financing.
Research Interests
I am interested in the effectiveness of novel financial instruments in funding conservation, primarily focusing on nature markets involving biodiversity offsets. I believe it is crucial to know the most effective conservation tools available before dedicating resources towards changing government policy.
Current Research
My MBiol will apply my research interests to the mature, well studied nature markets of North America, using them as a blueprint for improving future biodiversity offset and conservation policy.
