Ensuring No Net Loss for people and biodiversity: a webinar to discuss proposed good practice principles.

The BBOP Standard calls for biodiversity offsets to ensure people are ‘no worse off’, but more work is needed on specifically how to bring ecosystem services, and impacts on human wellbeing, into NNL/NG projects. One challenge is that social and ecological specialists do not always work in tandem when designing and implementing NNL/NG projects. To help address this gap, a series of good practice principles are being developed. The aim is both to provide guidance to help projects ensure people are indeed ‘no worse off’, but also to help identify positive synergies and opportunities to result in the best possible outcomes for people and nature. The principles are a work-in-progress and this webinar is to seek your feedback to help shape them. Following this webinar, the principles will be revised to present at the final BBOP meeting in Paris in November.
