Celebrating International Women's Day

Today, on International Women's Day we are celebrating women in conservation.

ICCS is happy to support a women's embroidery programme in Uzbekistan, which helps save saigas as well as empowering women in rural communities.

The Saiga Conservation Alliance, founded by the group's Director E.J. Milner-Gulland helps women in rural areas learn traditional embroidery skills and run their own collective, raising money to buy more expensive meat than saiga, such as mutton.

Through working with these women, who become Saiga Champions, we are pleased to support local projects and communities, give women new skills and save saigas.

You can buy their beautiful embroidery from our shop on the saiga-conservation.org website
